Biography

Banchamlak Hegena Hadero is a lecturer and researcher at Wolkite University, Ethiopia, and a PhD candidate in Economics. Her PhD research focuses on climate change, agri-food systems, food security, and household well-being. Her past research has covered critical issues such as food security, value chain analysis, gender, cooperatives, and agricultural commodity marketing. Driven by a deep passion for rural economic development, she is interested in transforming the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and ensuring equitable market and resource access under climate change and economic challenges. Through research and teaching, she integrates creative thinking, analytical skills, and field experience to translate theory into actionable strategies that foster resilience and strengthen food systems in Ethiopia.
